All I have to say is it's *About Time* I did an episode with Nik Manning. Now, if I haven't scared you away with my dad joke, come inside, brew some tea and listen to us dish about why About Time is one of the greatest films of all time.
I originally didn't watch About Time in the theater because, like many people, I thought it was a cringe-y story about a guy using time travel to manipulate a girl into loving him. I felt that way, because they promoted it that way. FOR SHAME!
But then I was fortunate enough to stumble upon it later in the comfort of my own home, where I ugly cried for about an hour straight. This film is so unbelievably gorgeous and I had to bring on my "fellow crybaby," Nik Manning from the podcast Black Girls Do Stuff Too, to talk about it.
We both feel like the movie does not get the recognition it definitely deserves. We also have been wanting to talk about the taboo topic of "crying during movies" so this was a 2 for 1 deal.
